Introduction to Vigyan Bhairav Tantra
Namaste, Hope you are doing well. I have written this series in order to present the purest meditation techniques to you. This series is directly written from the reference of the ancient text, “Vigyan Bhairav Tantra”. This is a Sanskrit text and is said the techniques given in this book are directly given by the Adhi Yogi, the first yogi in this world. Hindu worship him as Lord Shiva. We will not be concerned with any kind of religious values in this series. There are 112 methods of meditation in this book, which eventually is not possible for me to explain in this series. But I will try to cover most of them.
Remember you can choose any method of meditation and test it on yourself. Yes, you can contact me for further discussion. So, let’s begin the journey.
First of all, trying to find out the meaning of the content in “Vigyan Bhairav Tantra”, is senseless. It is neither philosophical nor intellectual. This book is solely concerned with the methods, nothing more. You have to practice that to feel the outcomes, there are no logical explanations for these methods.
Let’s know the meaning of Sanskrit word Tantra, which means the technique, a method, or simply a path. So tantra is basically a science, as it doesn’t deal with why but rather deals with how? Tantra is an experience. It’s a tool, use it rather than trying to understand it.
See, trying to tackle a problem intellectually is not an issue, it’s not that difficult. But to tackle a problem existentially is a difficult job to do. You are not a thing and finding solutions, but living the solution. Make sense right? So, Tantra or method or path is always a more difficult thing than learning philosophies. It’s something like, you cannot explain the feeling of love with theories, someone might explain it beautifully and someone might call it a mystery. But to find out what it is you must fall in love. So, trying to explain the outcomes and experience of meditation of Tantric Practice is senseless as you must get involved in it to know it better.
Adhiyogi or Shiva never gave the exact answer to Parvati when she was asking some spiritual questions. When she asked the question of self-realization, “Who am I?”, he didn't reply to that question. But gives Parvati a method or technique which after practicing she will know on her own. She will know the answer to her question on her own. So, this book doesn’t contain any philosophy at all but only the technique and so this series is going to be. I am not supposed to twist the essence of such an important book.
So, there might be religious conflict. Don’t worry, this series doesn’t talk on any religious values of any religion. Neither the methods are given for some specific people, this is given for all. Choose any path for the ultimate. It is purely spiritual. Tantra doesn’t touch your religion or religious values at all. It is not concerned with materialistic things either, just spiritual. So, this series is for all. This book is 5000 years old. The book is complete itself. You cannot add any methods of meditation. Today whatever the world has is nothing more than the meditation techniques given in this book and nothing more than combination.
Note that the book is the conversation between husband and wife, Husband is of-course Lord Shiva and wife is Devi Parwati who wants to understand the spiritual values, who wants to get into spirituality. So she is asking the source himself, the Adhiyogi. The conversation went deeper and meaningful as Devi Parwati was accepting everything with love. So, it’s normal that in order for the disciple to learn he must love his master. So was there as they were husband and wife. So this book is written in love language. So that the one who wants to dive into spirituality can directly choose any suitable method he likes and directly dives into the path with faith.
